Students learn the value of hard work and gain a competitive edge in college applications. Elite's unique curriculum builds the fundamentals students need to reach higher levels of competition.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMPETITIVE KUNGFU(WUSHU) AND TRADITIONAL KUNGFU

  • Competitive Kung Fu (also known as Wushu) and Traditional Kung Fu are both forms of Chinese martial arts, but they differ in their approach and focus.
  • Competitive Kung Fu, also known as Wushu, is a sport-oriented version of Kung Fu that is performed in competitive events. It emphasizes the athletic and acrobatic elements of Kung Fu, such as speed, power, and form. The routines performed in competitive Wushu are highly choreographed and are judged based on criteria such as difficulty, form, and presentation.
  • Traditional Kung Fu, on the other hand, is the original form of Kung Fu that has been passed down for generations. It emphasizes self-defense and personal development, with a focus on internal strength, flexibility, and mental discipline. Traditional Kung Fu often includes a variety of techniques such as hand strikes, kicks, throws, and grappling. The training methods are typically more rigorous and demanding, with a strong emphasis on repetition and discipline.
  • In conclusion, Competitive Kung Fu is a sport-oriented version of Kung Fu that focuses on athleticism and performance, while Traditional Kung Fu is the original form of Kung Fu that emphasizes self-defense and personal development.
